Susana Balbo, the amazing woman behind Crios (and the first Argentine winemaker to be hired as a consultant outside Argentina) bridges the style gap between Bordeaux and California with this purple drink of passion called Malbec.
Susan’s own silver Huarpe (one of the primary native tribes of the Mendoza region) Indian necklace inspired the label, with its figures that represent women’s reproductive role as the connection between the past, present, and future. She considers her role as winemaker to be the connection between the vineyards (past), the winemaking (present), and the finished wines (future).
Smells like oaky cinnamon and goes down like a lush velvety raspberry with a full-bodied and savory-like-a-piece-of-steak finish.
Drink it with grilled pork or a bacon cheeseburger.
