Another Trader Joe’s$4.99 wonder wine. The La Granja 360 Tempranillo-Garnacha Red Blend is imported by Trader Joe’s from the Carinena region of Aragon in the north of Spain. 50% Tempranillo and 50% Garnacha, the wine is aged in oak barrels 2 months before bottling. The alcohol content is 13.5%.
The color is a dark cherry red with a salmon pink halo. The nose is a little earthy and dusty, some plum and a touch of eucalyptus. Sweet cherries upfront followed by blackberry jelly and a little oak spice. Smooth texture and light tannins, not an especially complex or nuanced wine, but definitely very tasty. A very respectable blackberry jelly finish.
A first rate, cheap everyday wine. The LaGranja 360 Tempranillo-Garnache is the kind of wine that you keeps you reaching for another sip, you might not have started out all that thirsty, but the LaGranja 360 keeps you coming back for more. Not bad for a bottle of wine that runs you less that five bucks.
