Moselland ArsVitis Riesling 2007
March 29, 2009 by admin · 2 Comments

I bought Riesling wine at my local Costco for just under $10. My family had this wine at Thanksgiving and everyone that tried it enjoyed. To bad for me at the time I didn’t get to it before it was all gone. When I saw it at Costco I figured it was worth a shot for all my blog readers out there.
The nose was very clean and had some citrus, not much. The mouth has a little bit of sweet orange peel. In the mouth its very clean and soft. The finish comes through sweet and tart.
Not the perfect wine but its very drinkable. I think most people that like this wine will like it because of its sweet characteristics. Its very drinkable on its own which might make it a hit at your next party.

I liked the Rosemount 2005 Shiraz and had hoped that the Cabernet Sauvignon would compare well. I haven’t reviewed that 05 Shiraz on this site and I don’t plan to because you can’t find it anymore. Read more

This is one of three bottles of cheap bubbles I recently picked up at my local wine store. This sparkler was used for a special occasion and made the day that much better. In fact, the occasion may have bumped up my opinion of this wine in general. Sometimes that is hard to avoid.
The Blanc de Noirs is made of 92% Pinot and 8% Chardonnay. I tasted creamy cherry and strawberry in this wine. Its very well put together and smooth. The bubbles were tight and plenty. Good finish as well. Its currently on sale at wine.com for $13 which makes it a great value.

This was my first Bordeaux sparkler. Nice shape to the bottle and a pretty decent label. I got a lot of foam off the pour but not many bubbles in the glass.
On the nose I got apple and yeast honey and mineral. In the mouth I tasted lemon bread that sorted turned into a sour bread taste. That didn’t match up well with the apple and honey flavors. This sparkler is drinkable but not one of my favorites. You will find it to be very clean and light in texture.
