Parducci Sustainable White – 2007
January 3, 2009 by ramsay
Today’s review will come from my wino friend DeBoss.
I got this wine today at Whole Foods for $8.99. Tasted it while it was a little too cold, but thought it was a nice, mild and crisp white wine. The bottle doesn’t say what grapes are used to make it, but the website said Sauvignon Blanc, Muscat Canelli, Tokai, and Viognier; those grapes make it sound super sweet (Muscat??) but I didn’t find it overly sweet. I used it to poach cod and drank it with dinner as well (awesome pairing with the cod).
After it warmed up, the sauvignon blanc totally came out – classic honey and citrus in the bouquet – but I was pleased that it didn’t start tasting like pink grapefruit juice (I hate it when sauv blancs do that). I’m going to go back and get a couple bottles for the summer. This is a perfect summer evening bottle.
Interestingly, it’s bottled at the first carbon-neutral winery in the US. They use 100% green power and sustainable farming methods.

I’ve seen this wine but been nervous to try it. It’s great to read your review! We are on the hunt for a good, cheap sustainable wine for our wedding reception. We’re definitely going to check this one out.
I first tried this wine at a wine tasting this past weekend. It was, by far, my favorite of the whites that we had. It was sweet, but still crisp. I think that I’ll be serving it at my wedding too, Mandy!
