Frigidaire 42 Bottle Wine Cooler

January 3, 2009 by admin

Here’s a look at a wine cooler/cellar I picked up a few months ago at Lowe’s. It holds 42 bottles with six shelves and 2 removable racks below. The temperature control can be set for either red or white wine but not both. I keep it at 60 degrees and use it exclusively for red wine.

This cooler actually does what it says it will do. That’s rare for wine coolers. You really can fit 42 bottles in there. I’ve even got 5 over sized bottles stacked in. The temperature has stayed consistent and so far its been working perfectly.

I was happy to find a wine cooler that had everything I was looking for at a cheap price. 42 bottles is a decent capacity for a $300 chiller. The tinted glass that helps shield out sunlight is a nice touch. The temperature control is digitally displayed and the buttons don’t have that cheap feel that I’ve found in most cheap wine coolers. I recommend this to anyone looking for an entry level wine cooler.

You can buy the wine cooler here.

If you have any questions about this wine cooler feel free to contact me.

In case you are interested I’ve posted the list of what I’m keeping in my cooler for now:

I just bought the frigidaire 42 bottle wine cooler as well. Along with the keys there are two extra round pieces. What are they?

    It’s driving me nuts.

    Thanks

    Robert

    Hey Robert,
I have no clue what they are unfortunately. I just went down to look at mine and didn’t have a clue. Maybe the are to protect the floor from the cooler?

    Hi!

I just installed mine about 20 minutes ago and it is really loud. Is this normal at first?

I specifically purchased this model b/c all th reviews I read said it is so quiet.

I am hoping you can let me know if this gets better as time goes by.

    Thanks!

It’s a little loud when its working hard to cool itself down. The noise you are hearing is probably how it will sound every time it kicks on to cool down. Mine isn’t all that noisy though.

UPDATE: Now there is no sound at all… I mean QUIET and it reached the temp of 65 which is what I wanted.

I am hoping this is it and that it just didnt die on me.

It says 65 but doesnt feel all that cool. I have all reds. What temp do you suggest?

Ok.. I am being a total pain now.. one more question: Did you guys notice a spike in your electric bill after using the unit? I am just wondering how energy efficient it is.

    Thank you sooo much :)

Hello wine cooler owners, are you still happy with your 42-bottle Frigidaire Wine Cooler? I will contact Lowe’s soon to have it delivered unless anyone has a poor experience with theirs.
