2 Up Shiraz 2006
December 7, 2008 by ramsay
I opened the 2 Up Shiraz 2006 last night and tried it for the first time. I wanted to wait until today and try it again before I wrote my review. I got the same results as last night and have to say I’m a little disappointed. This wine is not entirely off. It does have some fruit to it but it doesn’t mix well with the iron/copper taste I get in the wine.
On the nose there was sweet juicy rhasberry and grape jolly rancher. As I tasted it I was getting a little of the grape jolly rancher candy and a little blueberry but on the finish I got that copper taste I was talking about. I think that iron/copper taste just isn’t for me. It is well balanced and has good structure but just wasn’t something I’d want to drink again. It was fun to try but that will be the only bottle I buy this year.
