Concha Y Toro Chardonnay 2005

After trying the wonderful Concha y Toro cabernet I quickly became a fan of the vineyard and have been wanting to try their other wines. The grapes that make up this Marques de Casa Concha Chardonnay were hand picked in March of 2005 and aged in two different types of french oak. 1/3 in new oak and the rest split between first and second use oak barrels. The wine came out with a light golden yellow color to it.

There is a great aroma to this wine. Its full of pear, butter, oak and a little hazelnut. The taste is even better than the nose. The fruit is very well balanced with the acidity which produces a great feel. I tasted mostly the same as what I got from the nose… pear, butter, oak. Those same flavors follow through to the finish where they are complimented by hazelnut. Great Chardonnay, give it a try.
