Toasted Head Cabernet 2006
September 23, 2008 by admin
Just had this wine while out to dinner with some friends at Macaroni Grill. I thought the name sounded interesting and would be worth a shot for $7 a glass. Turns out that it was the gold medal winner at the 2008 San Diego International wine competition.
Needless to say I was happy with this wine. I had just tried the 14 hands Cabernet and gave it away to a friend after we both agreed it tasted like regular warm grape juice. This Cabernet however was very nice. I picked up some sweet berry aroma on the nose. I could taste something sweet and red and I eventually decided it was cherry and strawberry with a little vanilla. This was a nice wine at a great value.

I picked this up last night for $14 based on your suggestion. Great wine! Lots of wonderful distinctive flavor without the bitterness. Thank you for the suggestion.
